Mid-tier firm opens dedicated cloud division

Technology

Bentleys has launched a dedicated cloud technology advisory division to “demystify the cloud”.

By Michael Masterman 8 minute read

The division, named Bentleys Cloud Solutions, will operate nationally but be based out of Hobart. The division will be led by Bentleys director Robin Allardice.

“Cloud-based solutions are quickly becoming a crucial way for business owners to drive efficiencies across their organisations,” said Mr Allardice.

“Bentleys Cloud Solutions division is an in-house team that will work with clients to identify where this technology will offer the greatest benefit, and help to implement it efficiently,” he said.

“Previously we were mainly focused on giving people a cloud-based accounting package. With all the available applications there are now, there is a whole lot more to it than just an accounting package. There is a whole solution for businesses that can all be run through cloud-based products,” Mr Allardice told AccountantsDaily.

Mr Allardice said currently, there is a clear gap for SMEs when it comes to cloud technology.

“We want to work with our clients to ‘demystify the cloud’ and ensure they are aware of the tangible benefits and bottom-line value these solutions will deliver to their business,” he said.

“Thinking ahead, we can see this technology driving benefits in a range of industries. We believe that with the right cloud solution, businesses can save up to 75 per cent of the time spent on administrative and compliance activities.”

The launch comes a week after Mr Allardice was appointed to Xero’s Partner Advisory Council. As part of the council, Mr Allardice will play a role in the development and direction of Xero’s future offerings.

“It’s a great recognition to be asked to join Xero’s Partnership Advisory Council. Bentleys is the only top 20 ranked accounting firm to be asked to join and the appointment cements our already close working relationship with Xero,” Mr Allardice said.
