Accounting software provider Xero has announced a partnership with a cloud practice management software company as it looks to target the mid and large-sized accounting practice market.

Larger firms targeted as Xero announces new partnership

Announced at Xerocon 2019, South African cloud practice management software GreatSoft will now integrate with Xero, with the accounting software provider hoping it will fill a market gap for larger firms.

GreatSoft, which entered the Australian market last year, is used by over 1,000 firms across 19 countries, with many of these being big four and top-tier firms.
Xero managing director Trent Innes said the integration would enable some of Australia’s largest practices to use GreatSoft and Xero more efficiently across all of their clients in the cloud.
“Together with GreatSoft, we’re giving Australian accounting practices of all shapes, sizes and technology maturity the ability to access beautiful software that makes them more efficient, more effective and more powerful for their clients,” Mr Innes said.
“Large and complex accounting firms can now use the tools, services and streamlined workflows that already benefit thousands of Australian accountants and bookkeepers and small businesses on Xero’s cloud-based platform. Through our connected platform, they will have the ability to provide high-value services to help grow their clients’ businesses.”
GreatSoft Australia chief executive Brian Armstrong — who was founder and chief executive of APS, which is now part of the Reckon Group — said the partnership would entice larger practices that remain on legacy practice software.
“We’re excited about our strategic partnership with Xero as it addresses the gap that exists in the market for a scalable, integrated solution for growing multi-office, multi-entity, multi-service line firms,” Mr Armstrong said.
“The integration allows GreatSoft and Xero to sync tax and client changes and gives practices the platform, freedom and flexibility to create a truly integrated cloud practice ecosystem to build a 360-degree, unified view of the client and a single source of truth.”
