New CPA alliance to help accountants embrace the cloud

Regulation

CPA Australia has entered into a ground-breaking partnership with a leading software provider to assist accounting firms in embracing the potential of cloud technologies.

By Staff Reporter 8 minute read

The agreement, with Wolters Kluwer, CCH, will provide CPA member firms with “unprecedented support” in the adoption of new technologies.

The partnership will see the launch of 'The Digital Practice', a specialised space in which CPA member firms can build their virtual presence with class-leading websites and access exclusive member-only prices for Wolters Kluwer, CCH’s, award-winning cloud-based suite of accounting software, CCH iFirm.

In a recent survey conducted by Wolters Kluwer, CCH, 96.1 per cent of accountants said they intend to increase their investment in cloud computing.

Jeff Hughes, chief operating officer of CPA Australia, said the partnership will provide member firms with a distinct competitive advantage.

“The accounting sector is experiencing rapid transformation and those firms that don’t adapt will struggle to compete. We are committed to ensuring our members’ practices are best equipped to face the challenges ahead,” Mr Hughes said.

Russell Evans, chief executive officer of Wolters Kluwer Tax & Accounting for the Asia Pacific said the partnership will deliver innovative, targeted solutions to accountants.

“There are over 7,000 CPA-accredited practices in Australia and this partnership represents a significant opportunity for Wolters Kluwer, CCH, to drive the future development and capability of these firms in the long term,” Mr Evans said.
