Mid-tier accounting firm Bentleys has announced the launch of a new office, representing a strategic move for the national accounting network.

Bentleys Tasmania will expand its regional footprint, adding a fourth office, and the first located in Northern Tasmania, in an attempt to strengthen its local presence.

David Wilson, managing director of Bentleys Tasmania, noted that the decision to further expand in the state was made specifically in an attempt to better adhere to the needs and demands of Northern Tasmanian business.

"While we have existing clients that we have strong relationships with and were able to service remotely, we recognise the importance of a local presence and the increasing strength of the area,” he said.

According to Mr Wilson, confidence continues to grow within the region, providing Bentleys with a real opportunity to deliver assistance to individuals and businesses, providing access to local expertise backed by the broader strength of a national network.

“We now have a true geographic footprint across the state, with local knowledge that we can apply to help businesses in each area,” he added.

While the new office will support face-to-face relationships between Bentley’s local advisers and their respective clients, Mr Wilson revealed there is a significant focus within the firm upon enabling businesses to better access technology and increase automation in their day-to-day accounting processes.

“Cloud services reduce administration time for our busy clients, which in turn allows them to focus on the actual running of the business,” Mr Wilson said.

“Our offices in Tasmania are leading the charge in this respect and our clients are benefiting from savings of up to 80 per cent in time by automating processes. That is a huge payback of hours that can be used to grow their business,” he said.

The Tasmanian expansion follows the recent acquisition of specialist advisory firm Australian Superannuation and Compliance (ASC) by Bentley's Perth.
