ATO consults regional small business

Business

The ATO is continuing to host community events around the country in an attempt to converse with small businesses, and garner feedback on products and services.

Close to 250 regional small businesses have already consulted with the ATO as part of a series of Community Conversations designed to support taxpayers.

Tax commissioner Chris Jordan stated that the ATO had already made improvements to products and services as a result of small-business feedback.

“I am committed to making business interactions with the ATO simpler, more efficient and less costly. Hearing directly from the community about what would make the most difference to their experience is vital,” he said.

“These Community Conversations help us understand what it is like to be in the shoes of small business and gives small business the opportunity to give feedback about their experience, and tell us more about what they need.”

Mr Jordan will also use the events, scheduled in regional areas of Australia, to promote recent ATO initiatives, such as myDeductions, SuperStream and expanded online services through myGov.
