KordaMentha names new partners

Business

Mid-tier firm KordaMentha has announced the appointment of four new partners, effective 1 July.

Rahul Goyal and Cassandra Mathews, both from Sydney, Sebastian Hams from Melburne and Jarrod Villani from Brisbane have all been promoted to partner in the mid-tier firm’s restructuring practice.

In a statement, KordaMentha said the four appointments recognise not only the individuals’ extraordinary commitment and contributions to the firm, but also the strength of the firm's restructuring practice.

KordaMentha founding partner Mark Mentha congratulated the new partners, telling AccountantsDaily that each of the four have demonstrated the skills and qualities required to make hold such a senior position in a successful professional services firm.

Mr Mentha highlighted their ability to balance not only work commitments, but also personal and family needs, too. He also said he believes the four have demonstrated the passion required to be a partner.

“Passion is a deciding factor in what makes a good partner: they have to have a passion for what they do,” he said.

“It’s great to work around passionate leaders and that’s what that group of four, and all the others who have gone before them, are.

“They genuinely love coming to work and they have the respect of both their staff, their peers and their clients.”

Cassandra Matthews will return from maternity leave in July to take up her new role, something Mr Mentha said demonstrates perfectly the firm’s family orientated mindset.

“We certainly are encouraging our female workers to be able to have a career and also have a family,” he said.

“We are trying to make it as user friendly with our policies, with our structures and support structures.

“We want to be seen to be promoting people based on merit, but equally, if they happen to be female then we want them to be able to manage a family’s needs and manage their work needs and client needs without having to worry about the policies or where they sit in the hierarchy.”
