As managing partner, Mr Imbesi will be responsible for building Deloitte’s local market brand positioning and client relationships across the mid-market, Victoria’s large private company community and large listed companies with which he has worked closely over the years.
Prior to his current role, Mr Imbesi was an audit partner for 17 years, helping drive Deloitte’s national research into board audit effectiveness and he is well known as a senior adviser to boards and management.
Mr Imbesi said he is excited to take on the new role, saying he expects a positive time ahead for the Victorian economy and for Victorian businesses.
“It’s a good time to be working with our Victorian clients across the private and listed sectors, with Deloitte Access Economics predicting in the recent Business Outlook, that the fall in the [Australian dollar] will be a big boost to the Victorian economy, as will falling energy and industrial commodity prices for our manufacturers, transport and tourism operators, as well as utilities,” he said.
Outgoing managing partner for Victoria Geoff Roberts has decided to return to an executive role in the industry.
“I am passing the baton to a leader who has great credibility and presence at the C-suite and board level through his many years of focus on ASX-listed companies,” said Mr Roberts.
“Tom is the perfect fit to lead our Victorian practice.”
