Xero forms start-up partnership

Business

Xero has entered a partnership with StartupAUS, the peak body for Australian high-growth start-ups.

By Staff Reporter 8 minute read

StartupAUS is a not-for-profit organisation with a mission to foster and build the community of technology entrepreneurship in Australia. Under the one-year partnership, Xero will become the exclusive sponsor for StartupAUS for accounting software, and become involved in regular events.

Chris Ridd, Xero managing director, Australia, will also join the StartupAUS advisory board and provide strategic direction and insight to the not-for-profit’s board of directors.

Peter Bradd, director of StartupAUS, said the organisation is excited to partner with Xero given the software provider's own success as a start-up technology company and its continued advocacy for tech entrepreneurs in Australia.

“Partnerships with companies like Xero will enable StartupAUS to ramp up our efforts to make Australia a better place to launch a tech business.”

“Chris Ridd is a valuable addition to our StartupAUS advisory board, and will no doubt be able to provide insight to Australian start-ups on how Xero has become a global force in online accounting and cloud computing,” said Mr Bradd.

Mr Ridd said Xero’s goal is to help Australian entrepreneurs grow and show the world what they are capable of.

“We’re committed to contributing and fostering the start-up culture in Australia in the long-term and we’ll continue to invest in a series of activities, events, and programs, rather than just a one–off, flash-in–the–pan announcement.

“Xero is a powerful tool for entrepreneurs to foster sustainable and successful businesses and we’re happy to provide value back to the start-up community and support them any way we can,” Mr Ridd said.
