Mark Pizzacalla, former managing partner at Mann Judd in Melbourne, is one of five new partners in BDO’s Victorian office.

Geoff Sincock (Private Clients) and Jason de Boer (Corporate Tax) have also joined the firm after previously working at Deloitte in Melbourne.

Zara Ritchie, who will join the firm as Transfer Pricing lead, has been recruited from PwC while just one new partner, Stephen Seear, now a Corporate Finance partner, has been promoted internally.

Chief executive of BDO’s East Coast Partnership Chris Brant said the appointments will strengthen BDO’s growing presence in Melbourne.

“We’re absolutely thrilled with the calibre of professionals who have joined our Melbourne office this year,” Mr Brant said.

“It’s a great endorsement of the strategic direction we’re taking in Victoria.

“Our new partners are some of the best talent available in professional services and we’re extremely happy they have chosen to be a part of what we are building here at BDO.”

According to Mr Brant the Melbourne firm has seen considerable growth in the last 12 months with the tax practice growing by 10 per cent, while a new forensic services division has been created. This new division has seen two other partners, David Ferrier and Andrew Morgan, appointed in the previous 12 months.

The appointments take BDO’s Melbourne partner numbers to 22. BDO has said it is targeting continued growth and expanded service offerings in Melbourne, with more senior recruiting anticipated in the near future.
