'Premier' product moves into the cloud

Business

MYOB has made one of its flagship products available in the cloud as the software provider continues to expand its range of online-based accounting solutions.

MYOB’s AccountRight Premier, designed for mid-sized, established businesses with complex accounting needs, now allows business owners and managers to work offline, online or both.

MYOB general manager, business division, James Scollay said the move will enable increased collaboration between businesses and their accountants, creating a more value-rich partnership and positioning businesses for real performance gains.

“As online tools and cloud computing become increasingly part of doing business, it’s important that businesses continue to embrace these technologies. Our years of conducting SME research shows us there is a strong correlation between solid business performance and online technology usage,” he said.

According to Mr Scollay, those who use cloud computing are 30 per cent more likely to increase their revenue.

"We know online technologies can help many businesses become better connected, more productive and more competitive,” he said.

Mr Scollay said MYOB is continually listening to feedback from accountants and looking at ways to integrate greater usability and functionality into each release.

“The beauty of an online platform is its ability to allow us to be more responsive,” he said

“We’ll continue to deliver continuous updates and enhancements to the online version of AccountRight Premier, such as multi-currency, which will be available in late 2014.”

Meanwhile, MYOB has also launched its first enterprise mobile business application, to allow businesses' sales staff to access information remotely.

MYOB EXO OnTheGo offers a complete end-to-end order entry process on the go, according to MYOB.

General manager, enterprise division, Andrew Birch said the market is increasingly demanding mobile access to ERP systems for querying, order fulfilment and reporting.

“By offering our own mobile solution, developed specifically for MYOB EXO business, clients will have a single partner providing their entire ERP system – no more having to work with multiple vendors and run the risk of poor integration or communication between them,” Mr Birch said.
