Perks to help light up Adelaide’s winter festival

Sponsoring Illuminate Adelaide chimes with the firm’s goal of helping to reinvigorate the city post-pandemic, it says.

Privately-owned accounting firm Perks has become a sponsorship partner of South Australia’s winter event, Illuminate Adelaide.

Perks CEO James Black (pictured right) said the partnership with Illuminate Adelaide was a perfect fit for a firm that had a history of backing the arts.

“Illuminate Adelaide has gone from strength to strength each year since it first lit up Adelaide in 2021, delivering exciting, engaging and accessible events for families, friends and visitors by showcasing landmarks and public spaces in a different light,” he said.

“Perks has supported the vibrant South Australian creative arts community over the years as part of the lifeblood that supports our state’s rich, diverse and thriving economy.

“We are proud to continue to play a part in lighting up the state’s economy through Illuminate Adelaide in 2023.”

The Illuminate Adelaide partnership comes a year after Perks relocated from Parkside to larger city headquarters on Flinders Street in a deliberate move to help reinvigorate the city after COVID-19.

Perks said the move echoed its mission to help South Australian businesses and individuals shine and the firm’s ongoing role as an advocate and adviser for people working in the creative industries.

Illuminate Adelaide co-artistic directors and founders Rachael Azzopardi and Lee Cumberlidge (pictured) said Perks was a good fit for the event.

“We are excited to partner with Perks, an organisation that shares our vision of growth and prosperity for the wider community,” they said.

“We’re both homegrown organisations with a clear focus on South Australia. Having grown from humble beginnings over 40 years ago, Perks is one of the great South Australian success stories.”

“We are thrilled to have them on board as a partner of Illuminate Adelaide and for them to join us in our mission to reinvigorate the city through light and art.”

The celebration of art, music, light and technology takes place across the city from June 28 to July 30 and aims to bring the streets and public spaces of Adelaide to life.

Established in 1983, Perks is one of South Australia’s largest privately-owned and independently-badged accounting and wealth advisory firms.
