The firm’s recently finished centre has been designed to promote employee wellbeing and an enhanced workplace experience.

KPMG has relocated its Greater Western Sydney office, settling in a recently outfitted space that aims to promote green design and employee wellbeing.

Western Sydney partner at KPMG, Kaylene Hubbard, said the contemporary space would increase the firm’s presence in the area.

“The upgraded space will allow KPMG to continue its strong history of supporting businesses in the GWS region, with KPMG having first established a presence here in February 2015,” said Ms Hubbard.

Following a move from Phillip Street, the firm now has over 500 staff based in the newly furnished office in Parramatta Square, one of Australia’s largest commercial precincts.

Located in the rapidly expanding CBD, the firm said the office was purposefully designed to promote employee wellbeing and accommodate growth.

The updated space comes amid businesses striving to retain talent and foster a sense of community in the workplace by providing an enhanced environment for employees to collaborate and enjoy their work experience when they report to the office.

In line with this goal, the office reportedly has several features that aim to enhance the workspace experience, including an open-air terrace, a client and connect space for informal meetings, a reflection room with a foot bath, an all-gender bathroom, a TechZone, and a staff wellbeing area with a ping pong table to help the staff de-stress.

“We’ve created a space that will draw people together to connect and collaborate,” said Ms Hubbard.

In addition to prioritising employee wellbeing, the office at 3 Parramatta Square also incorporates green features designed to reduce KPMG’s carbon footprint and support the firm’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions.

The building has been classified as a low environmental footprint building, with a six-green star design and six-green star interior rating, demonstrating its high level of sustainability and energy and resource efficiency optimisation.

The office also reaffirmed KPMG’s social responsibility goals through an artwork created by local Indigenous students from Doonside Technology High School, who have been mentored by KPMG employees in Parramatta for over six years.

The firm indicated that the community relationship would continue at the updated office, with plans for future mentoring sessions later this year.

Ms Hubbard said over the past eight years, the firm had taken pride in providing a “diverse and flexible work environment”  that reflects the region and its population.

She said the revamped base cemented KPMG’s presence in Greater Western Sydney.

“It really is an environment that facilitates innovative and flexible working,” said Ms Hubbard.

“We have a great office culture in our GWS office and a high presence of staff already. This new office will take this even further.”
