Carbon Group has announced a merger with Brisbane-based bookkeeping firm Thrive Advisors.

The merger, Carbon’s 19th deal since 2014, will mark the network’s first foray into the Queensland market.

Thrive Advisors, located in Darra, 14km southwest of the Brisbane CBD, will now rebrand to Carbon Bookkeeping.

The merger will see Thrive Advisors founder Rouli van der Linde remain in the business as a partner, taking Carbon’s partner headcount to 22. The existing Thrive team will continue under the rebranded firm.

“We’re thrilled to be joining the team at Carbon and becoming the first office in Queensland. I’ve followed the company’s growth for many years, and it was a great opportunity to become part of the success,” Mrs van der Linde said.

“I have similar values and passions, so I’m confident it’s the right decision for my business and my clients.”

As part of the deal, Carbon Bookkeeping partner Gail Rogerson will relocate to Brisbane to help lead the team alongside Mrs van der Linde.

“The opportunity to move interstate was presented to me, and I couldn’t be more excited to head over to Queensland to launch Carbon in a new location with Rouli. It’s evident that Rouli shares our passion for cloud solutions and business processes.”

Carbon’s latest merger comes after the group expanded its reach to New South Wales earlier this year.

The accounting group now has representation in five states including NSW, Vic, Qld, SA and WA.
