Thomson Reuters has announced the appointment of a former PwC employee as the new managing director of the Tax and Accounting division in Australia and New Zealand.

Ben Scull has been appointed to the role following his promotion from Australia and New Zealand sales director, and will be responsible for accelerating business growth priorities across the corporate, government and enterprise sectors.
“He brings both broad and in-depth management experience in several areas including sales growth and business development strategy, product innovation, client relationship management, business operations and talent acquisition,” Thomson Reuters said in a statement.
The company also announced that its tax and accounting compliance offerings will be expanded to reflect new tax transparency measures imposed by local tax authorities and financial regulators, namely BEPS/country-by-country reporting, indirect tax compliance and corporate tax.
“With tax reform high on the government agenda and the market a hot-bed for digital disruption and innovation, we’re committed to helping tax and finance professionals leverage the latest tools, technology and information to create a more agile and advisory-led function,” said Mr Scull.
Mr Scull will report to Paul Brindle, managing director overseeing Australia, New Zealand, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Mr Brindle will also be expanding his responsibilities as global head of portfolio management.
