MYOB appoints former Virgin Australia exec as marketing chief

Appointments

The appointment is a signal of intent as the firm is now “wildly different” from its start-up beginnings.

MYOB has appointed a former chief marketing and commercial officer at Virgin Australia, Dean Chadwick, as its head of marketing as part of its ongoing transformation.

The CEO at MYOB, Greg Ellis, said the firm had undergone significant change over recent years and the appointment of Mr Hardwick, who most recently was chief customer officer at retail site The Iconic, would assist it in increasing the focus on customers’ digital experience and value through the platform.

“While we have a long legacy of supporting businesses across Australia and New Zealand, the MYOB of today is wildly different from our start-up roots,” said Mr Ellis.

“Through the application of our local market knowledge and experience of supporting millions of businesses, MYOB has invested significantly in the development of a software-as-a-service based business management platform, offering highly curated cloud-based experience wrapped around the most critical business workflows.”

Mr Chadwick said he was looking forward to being a part of MYOB’s next step in its digital modernisation journey.

“MYOB’s business transformation has been phenomenal and I’m looking forward to contributing to the next phase of the brand and platform evolution,” said Mr Chadwick.

“My passion lies in delivering experiences with customer value at the core, enabling generations of Aussie and Kiwi business owners to be successful is a powerful purpose that I’m excited to be part of.”

Mr Chadwick also brought experience from senior positions held at American Express where he spent over 14 years. In 2019 he was recognised in the top 10 of the CMO50 list, which acknowledges Australia’s most innovative and effective marketing leaders.

The firm said his experience in digital, data, growth marketing and customer experience was a great fit for the business as it continued to undertake its digital transformation.

Mr Chadwick’s appointment, which will be effective from June 2023, comes after the launch of a creative shift through the firm’s integrated marketing campaign.

“The MYOB brand has great momentum right now and we’re excited for Dean to take our experience to the next level,” said Mr Ellis.
