William Buck promotes three directors to New Zealand team

William Buck has promoted three staff members to director within its New Zealand business advisory team, taking the total number in the practice to 15.

Brian Cao, Courtney West, and Diana Li are all based in the firm’s Auckland office and had an exciting future ahead as the next generation of directors, William Buck said.
The firm said the appointments demonstrated its commitment to promote from within where possible and develop staff to their full potential.
After starting at the firm as a graduate, Ms West brought experience of supporting businesses through their various lifecycle stages, the firm said.
She had a particular interest in the health industry and worked extensively with GPs, dentists, and other specialists and practice managers to help them achieve their business goals.
Ms West said she enjoyed seeing clients succeed and realise their potential and that would continue in her new position.
The firm said Mr Cao had joined its advisory team in 2014 and had provided business and tax planning advice to multinational companies, particularly those operating in the professional services and other service industries in Europe, the US, and Singapore.
He brought with him over 15 years of experience as a chartered accountant and adviser and understood each client had specific challenges to overcome.
Ms Li had expertise in business and tax advisory which allowed her to see the bigger picture and provide the correct advice for a range of clients including SMEs, commercial entities, trusts, and high-net-worth individuals.
She said she enjoyed the challenge of meeting new clients and tackling different issues and her experience extended to providing advice on business structures and solvent liquidations.
Ms Li joined William Buck in 2017 and was keen to keep helping her clients succeed and their businesses grow.
The firm has been providing accounting and advisory services for over 125 years and now has over 110 directors and 950 professional staff across Australia and New Zealand.
