William Buck merges with Parramatta consultancy

Appointments

Bringing in the business advisory specialist will broaden Buck’s offerings in Sydney, it said.

William Buck has increased its services for Greater Sydney through a merger with Parramatta accounting and advisory firm Champion’s Business Growth Advisers.

The decision to go ahead with the merger was a simple one due to the complementary culture of the two firms, said William Buck managing director Nick Hatzistergos (pictured).

“We’ve known Champion’s for a long time, and they’re an obvious fit,” said Mr Hatzistergos.

“They’ve built a formidable firm based on a great culture amongst their people and outstanding client relationships.”

“Their unwillingness to compromise on client service is a value shared by William Buck.”

Directors at Champion’s Business Growth Advisers Stephen Champion and David Freney said merging with William Buck had no downside for either party or their clients.

“Our clients will gain access to William Buck’s deep expertise across audit and assurance, specialist tax services, corporate advisory and wealth advisory,” they said.

“Our team will benefit from William Buck’s expansive training and development and wellbeing programs.”

William Buck confirmed that Mr Champion and Mr Freney would stay on as directors within its business advisory practice.

The firm also said the merger would provide it with greater resources and expertise to meet the growing demands of not only its current clients but many of the other 2.35 million small or medium enterprises in Australia.

William Buck has over 100 directors and more than 900 staff across Australia and New Zealand, the firm is also a member of the Praxity Alliance, an association of independent accounting firms with over 51,000 professionals in 110 countries.

Champion’s Business Growth Advisers was established in 1987 and grew into a team of more than 20 people servicing the needs of clients with turnovers from over $300 million to under $1 million.
