Accounting and advisory association HLB Mann Judd has revealed 11 promotions across multiple offices.

The selections are across the network’s taxation, audit, business services, and corporate advisory divisions.

HLB Mann Judd association chair Tony Fittler said that the number of appointments reflected the development and depth of employees at the firm.

“Our new appointments have all been with the HLB network of firms for some time and while attracting quality staff in this market can be a challenge, retaining them is another. These promotions recognise the value of the knowledge and expertise that our people have developed,” said Mr Fittler.

“Staff are the backbone of professional service firms, and we do our utmost to acknowledge skills and expertise, as well as commitment.

“The network congratulates each of the 11 appointed to their new roles, and looks forward to the important contribution they will continue to make to their respective firms.”

Of the announced appointments, 10 were promotions to director while one was to partner.

Kapil Kukreja was appointed as a partner at HLB Mann Judd’s Melbourne firm where he will continue to provide professional advisory services such as internal audit, risk management, fraud investigations, and cyber security.

The firm said that Mr Kukreja was also a certified internal auditor and a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors — Australia.

Seven of the promoted directors occurred in the Sydney office across audit, assurance, and corporate advisory as well as tax consulting divisions.

Donna Emsies, Helena Yuan, and Marcus Polovineo were all promoted to the position of director within the tax consulting department.

Ms Emsies has over 15 years of experience in the field and specialises in corporate and international tax whereas Ms Yuan’s 20 years of experience was focused on business services and taxation areas. The firm said that Mr Polovineo brought with him expertise in commercial tax.

The other four Sydney-based promotions were within the firm’s audit, assurance and corporate advisory division. They were Hardik Shukla, Victor Babin, Warrick Oakes, and Heather Leffler.

The firm said that Mr Oakes brought expertise in mergers and acquisitions, while Mr Shukla had over 14 years of experience in audit and financial reporting services for large private businesses.

HLB Mann Judd said that Mr Babin brought extensive knowledge of auditing complex international groups with high-volume transactions, and Ms Leffler brought international experience having previously worked in the UK in audit and assurance services.

Three of the 11 promoted were within the business’ Fijian firm. Laura Kemueli was promoted to director in the Fijian firm’s audit practice, Atnesh Prasad was appointed to director of taxation, and Sanjay Ram Saxena was appointed as a director within Fiji’s business services division.

The firm said Ms Kemueli had over 15 years of experience in audit and assurance and business advisory services and began her career in audit for US state and local governments.

Meanwhile, Mr Saxsena had been at the firm for over 16 years and had expertise in advising corporate clients and Mr Prasad had more than 10 years of experience in accounting and taxation services, according to HLB Mann Judd.
