Grant Thornton has promoted a partner with 15 years of experience at the firm to be its national head of technology, media and telecommunications.

Jace Gawne-Buckland was previously a partner in the firm’s private business tax and advisory practice, and national managing partner Iain Kemp said he was glad to see him take up the challenge.
“The technology industry in Australia is growing rapidly,” said Mr Kemp. “We have all seen the shift towards digital transformation and many tech companies have benefited from this drive.
“I am pleased to announce that Jace Gawne-Buckland will take on the position of national head of technology, media and telecommunications and welcome him to the role.
“We have a strong, dedicated team and a solid client base. Our people and our clients will appreciate the knowledge, skill and enthusiasm that Jace will bring to the leadership role to continue to build Grant Thornton’s reputation in the technology market.”
The firm said that Mr Gawne-Buckland had a passion for all things technology and during his 15 years in professional services had explored the influence of technology across all industries as both a disruptor and an enabler.
The many challenges facing the technology industry, including compliance, financing, and the attraction and retention of talent, saw Mr Gawne-Buckland assist multiple technology-based businesses across numerous issues.
“There is a lot of opportunity in this industry and I am excited to work with the wider team to continue delivering solutions to our clients on the challenges they must navigate to maintain growth and also remain compliant,” said Mr Gawne-Buckland.
