Seven promotions reflect the goal of long-term strategic growth, says the firm.

Audit, tax and advisory firm Mazars has promoted three partners and four associate directors across its offices in NSW, Victoria and Queensland.

Melbourne managing partner Richard DeBono said that the promotions supported the long-term strategic growth of the firm.

“Mazars has a culture that recognises talent and commitment,” said Mr DeBono. “Our newly expanded leadership team will continue to identify opportunities for professional development and progression at all levels.”

One of the promoted partners, Jonathan Cicutto, will work out of the Melbourne office in the accounting and outsourcing department.

Mr Cicutto joined Mazars in 2016 and has experience with both local and multinational corporations, specialising in outsourcing.

Another promoted partner, Ruth Kim, has spent the past 15 years working as a business advisory accountant and will bring that experience to her new role in the Sydney office.

Stephen Baxter has also been promoted to partner and will work within the indirect tax sector of the business out of the Sydney office.

Mr Baxter has over 33 years of experience within the indirect tax field and specialises in GST planning and transaction advice as well as land tax dispute and planning advice for developers.

Managing partner of Mazars’ Sydney office Matthew Ashley said the firm recognised that its people were its most important quality.

“As a business that is focused towards attracting and retaining incredible talent, we acknowledge that our people are our most valuable asset,” he said.

“The senior appointments reflect our culture of promoting talent and empowering our people, while sharpening our focus to deliver upon the immense potential that exists within Mazars to continue to grow exponentially. I look forward to the impact Mazars will continue to make on the lives of our people and clients.”

Along with the three promotions to partner, Mazars also promoted four associate directors across the business advisory, audit and assurance, and accounting and outsourcing fields.

They are Pei-hua Loke, who will work from the Melbourne office, Shaunie Huzzey and Casey Bourke who will both work out of Sydney, and Jay Piprotar in Brisbane.

Brisbane managing partner John Kotzur said that the growth of the firm had been reflected through the promotions.

“The phenomenal growth experienced by Mazars Australia would not have been possible without the support of our team, and we are honoured to acknowledge some of these outstanding individuals,” he said.

Mazars is an internationally integrated partnership specialising in audit, accountancy, advisory, tax and legal services that operates in over 90 countries.
