Accounting firm, Moore Australia (NSW), has hired an additional partner to lead its Asia-Pacific audit and assurance division in Irene Wang.

Managing partner at Moore Australia (NSW), Jason Yu, said that the appointment of Ms Wang demonstrated the firm's commitment to growth in the region.

“Asia is a huge growth market for Australian businesses and vice versa. As a result, we have seen more and more requests to support clients in these locations,” said Mr Yu.

“The appointment of Ms Wang further demonstrates our commitment to become Australia’s most respected professional services network.”

Ms Wang has over 18 years of audit and assurance experience across both Australia and China and is also registered as a company auditor.

She previously worked for top accounting firms across Australia as well as BDO Reanda Certified Public Accountants in China and had worked with growing listed companies in several industries as well as unlisted firms in financial and professional services, and also not-for-profit organisations.

Moore Australia (NSW) said that this considerable expertise working in audit and assurance within the Asia-Pacific market as well as being fluent in Mandarin and English would assist the firm's growth.

Ms Wang said she was pleased to get the opportunity to help lead the firm forward.

“The Moore Australia brand is synonymous with quality, respect and excellence,” she said.

“We have a shared passion for providing outstanding service whilst maintaining a close connection with our clients.”

“Becoming a part of the Moore family is not only an honour and a privilege, it offers major opportunities for clients who will have access to a vast network of experts globally.”

The firm said that the acquisition of Ms Wang would grow its audit and assurance offering, and help the firm expand and satisfy the increasing demand of clients in the Asia-Pacific region.

“Over the past 12 months, we have been implementing our strategic plan to extend our services to ensure we are able to look after every aspect of our clients’ businesses,” said Mr Yu.

Moore Australia (NSW) said that the expansion was important as investors looked to the Asia-Pacific region as a key development area while many Asian investors looked to the Australian market as well.

The firm said that at the end of 2021, there was over $3.3 trillion in Australian money invested overseas according to DFAT.

DFAT also revealed that in 2021, investments into Australia by Asian economies, China, Japan, India and the Republic of Korea, reached $2.6 trillion.

Moore Australia (NSW) said that Australia was well placed to reap the benefits of the growing Asia-Pacific region as it had 15 bilateral and multilateral free trade agreements.

Moore Australia (NSW) is part of the Moore Global Network and has 14 offices with over 500 people around Australia, and generates annual revenues in excess of $80 million.
