Pilot Partners, a member of Nexia International, has announced the promotion of Josh Meggs from associate director to partner within its tax and business advisory division.

Mr Meggs’ promotion will see him join the firm’s leadership team alongside 10 other partners in its Brisbane office.

Pilot Partners managing partner Brian McDonald said Mr Meggs has been an integral part of the team for more than a decade, having started his career with the firm as an undergraduate accountant in 2009.

“We are proud of the contribution he has made to the firm and have no doubt he will continue to add to the success of our business,” Mr McDonald said.

“Key focus areas for Josh will be on foreign-controlled businesses and their Australian operations, cross-border transactions, expatriate taxation issues and other international taxation matters.”

The firm also recently announced the promotions of Kylee Smith and Cameron Woodcroft from managers to associate directors.

Ms Smith joined Pilot Partners in 2008 and specialises in a wide range of Australian corporate and individual taxation matters including corporate tax, goods and services tax, capital gains tax and fringe benefits tax.

Mr Woodcroft’s promotion comes after he joined the firm in 2009 as a graduate accountant. He specialises in insolvency administrations, including voluntary administrations, members and creditors voluntary liquidations, corporate and court-initiated receiverships, bankruptcy, personal insolvency, court liquidations and statutory trustee appointments.

“These internal appointments reflect our commitment to nurturing professional development and the high calibre of people coming up through the firm,” Mr McDonald said.

“They should be commended for their hard work.”
