BDO has added 17 partners as of 30 June 2018, bringing the national tally of partners up to 176.

The bulk of the appointments came from its Sydney office, accounting for 6 new partners, with Melbourne and Perth tied at four, and Brisbane seeing three new appointments.
In addition to the partner appointments, 22 associate director positions have been announced as the firm looks to establish a pathway for future partner positions.
BDO national chair, Helen Argiris said the appointments come as the firm experiences significant growth in areas such as transfer pricing, risk advisory, international trade, and human capital.
In particular, international trade services market demand has seen the firm launch a new international trade and excise team earlier this year.
“In addition to new partner hires, this year’s promotions list reflects a strong pipeline for our Partners of the Future,” said Ms Argiris.
“Creating a clear career pathway for people to progress is evident in the significant number of associate director appointments. These appointments demonstrate a strong pipeline for future partner appointments coming up through the ranks.”
“The appointments show our continued confidence, not only in our people, but in the robustness of the Australian economy as we deliver on the expanding needs of our clients.”
Of the 17 new partners, only four appointments are female, or roughly 23 per cent, which is below the Australian Institute of Company Directors’ call for all boards to ensure a target of 30 per cent.
Ms Argiris had earlier said the accounting industry still had more work to do to encourage women into the profession.
