Ex-CA boss lands new overseas gig

Appointments

The former long-standing chief executive of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, Lee White, will start his next executive role in London by April this year.

Mr White has been appointed executive director at the IFRS Foundation. He replaces Yael Almog, a lawyer who held the position for almost six years.

The IFRS Foundation is a not-for-profit oversight body of the International Accounting Standards Board.

Mr White stood down as CEO of CA ANZ in April last year, replaced by Rick Ellis the following month. He has been a CA for 30 years, and a fellow since 1998. He has also held management positions at PwC and ASIC.

Chair of the trustees of the IFRS foundation, Michel Prada, said Mr White’s professional background and contact book made him an “ideal candidate” for the role.

“I am thrilled to have the privilege to be the executive director of the IFRS Foundation, a unique organisation with a global reach,” Mr White said about his appointment.

“I look forward to contributing to the sustained success of the IFRS Foundation and to continue serving my profession and the global business community,” he said.
