Sage launches charitable foundation

Business

Accounting software provider Sage has launched the charitable Sage Foundation which will be funded through Sage using an innovative ‘2+2+2’ model.

By Staff Reporter 7 minute read

Sage has committed to donate to charity 2 per cent of employee time; 2 per cent of free cash flow; and two Sage products to any charity, social enterprise or non-profit organisation.

The firm announced that each of its 14,000 employees worldwide will be able to contribute 5 days per year (2 per cent) in work time to volunteer with any non-profit organisation they elect to support.

The Sage Foundation will also receive Sage’s total revenue from the non-profit sector which the firm said is equivalent, notionally, to 2 per cent of free cash flow.

Alan Osrin, managing director of Sage Australia and Sage Handisoft, said corporate social responsibility is taken very seriously at the company.

“Many companies treat it as a tick-box exercise, but we feel it is central to the culture we nurture across the business,” he said.

“Across Australia, our Sage colleagues are actively engaged in charitable endeavours and we want to further enable employees to follow their values and passions. The Sage Foundation will take our support to the next level, empowering our people to assist the causes they care about most.”
