Independent assurance, tax, and advisory firm Grant Thornton has appointed Kirstin Stewart to partner in its private business tax and advisory practice.

“Kirstin’s comprehensive experience across a wide range of industries and her Family Business Australia involvement makes her a wonderful asset to our team nationally and will help grow our private business tax and advisory offering in Perth and WA,” said Michael Pittendrigh, national managing partner of consulting and private business tax and advisory practice at Grant Thornton.

Ms Stewart joins Grant Thornton’s Perth office with over 20 years of experience advising clients in running and growing their businesses, encompassing accounting, income taxation, and other relevant legislation.

She has worked with clients in a wide range of industries including real estate and construction, retail, food and beverage, communications, and entertainment.

Grant Thornton said Ms Stewart also comes to the role as an accredited adviser member of Family Business Australia, which looks to assist family businesses in using its unique competitive advantage to succeed through providing advice, professional development courses, networking, and events.

“As a CA and FCPA qualified professional accountant, I’m passionate about helping my clients to grow and assisting them to achieve their financial goals, both in business and personally,” said Ms Stewart.

“As an advocate for technology and social media in business, I enjoy leveraging these channels to build relationships and create broader awareness of issues for my current and prospective clients.”

“I believe working collaboratively with clients is integral to their success.”

Ms Stewart also brings to the role her experience as a board member of several not-for-profit organisations according to the firm.

Grant Thornton is part of a global network that has over 61,700 professionals across 147 countries with the Australian team consisting of over 165 partners and 1,300 staff across offices in Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, Melbourne, Sydney, and Perth.
