BDO Australia has added to its partners with former PwC director John Haggett joining the firm's project and infrastructure advisory team.

BDO said Mr Haggett joined its Melbourne office after working at PwC across Australia, Canada, and the UK, where he was most recently a director in the infrastructure advisory practice.

Darren Black, BDO’s national leader for project and infrastructure advisory, said that Mr Haggett’s experience and knowledge would be an asset to the team.

“John brings over 15 years of experience in the infrastructure space and an international background in large-scale transactions across Australia, Canada, and the UK,” said Mr Black.

“He has extensive knowledge across multiple sectors including transport, healthcare, and environment, with exposure across a range of procurement models.”

“John has advised throughout the full project lifecycle, from concept development and procurement up to contract and into delivery, acquiring a keen understanding of issues faced by public and private sector clients in optimising commercial structures, delivering efficient procurements and raising finance.”

Mr Black said BDO’s project and infrastructure advisory team had hired four partners to its Melbourne and Brisbane offices in the past 12 months, with David Kwong, Ally Flint, and Nick Hardy also among the high-calibre additions.

“We are building an incredibly strong project and infrastructure team, welcoming a number of highly respected industry experts with sought-after reputations,” said Mr Black.

“This has been recognised by the sector and we are being invited to bid for a multitude of diverse jobs across Australia.”

“It’s an exciting time for our team and the BDO brand in the market.”

BDO Australia was founded in 1975 and has grown to become one of the largest in the BDO organisation with over 2,140 staff and almost 250 partners as well as offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide, Hobart, Cairns, and the Sunshine Coast.
