Ms Williams, who was elected to the board in 2017 and was previously deputy president, will now take over the reins from outgoing president Damien Moore who served in the role for the past four years.

The board of directors has also re-elected Cheryl Mallett as deputy president, and elected Jason Parker as deputy president.

Ms Williams was a former partner at PPB Advisory and moved into public practice in 2006 as principal of Insolvency & Turnaround Solutions.

Commenting on her appointment, Ms Williams said she was committed to growing the IPA and cementing its leadership position in the small to medium enterprise segment of the economy.

“The IPA continues to be a strong advocate for small business and small to medium practices in all aspects of business operations including their mental health and wellbeing,” said Ms Williams.

“The IPA has achieved a great deal in recent years, and I look forward to contributing further to the organisation’s growth objectives.”

Ms Williams also thanks Mr Moore for his term as president.

“On behalf of all members I would like to thank Damien Moore as the outgoing President for all of his work and efforts over the past four years,” said Ms Williams.

“Under Damien’s stewardship the organisation has continued to grow and forge a pathway for the IPA to have a voice in the global accounting profession.”
